Borrow du Credit UAE: Out of Credit Code, Fees & Repayment
Quick answer: Eligible du customers can request an AED 5 airtime advance through *108# or by texting 5 to 1080. du’s Out of Credit page states a service fee of AED 1 plus VAT, with repayment deducted on the next relevant recharge. This is borrowed mobile credit, not a cash loan.
An advance can bridge a short gap, but the next recharge will not all become spendable credit. Read the confirmation before relying on it for a call or pack purchase.
Eligibility and the official request
| Item | Published guidance |
|---|---|
| Account history | Line held for at least three months |
| Usage | Minimum AED 10 a month under the service’s eligibility conditions |
| Airtime advance | AED 5 after a successful eligible request |
| USSD | *108#, with the borrow option shown by the menu |
| SMS request | 5 to 1080 |
| Fee | AED 1 plus VAT per AED 5 advance |
| Repayment | Deducted when the relevant More Time balance is recharged |
Request the advance once
- Choose the du line on your phone.
- Open the official borrow menu or use the stated SMS request.
- Review the amount, fee and eligibility response.
- Confirm only if you want the advance.
- Wait for a successful operator message and check the usable credit before spending it.
Do not keep requesting an advance after an error. The service can decline a line that does not meet the account conditions. A successful past request does not guarantee another request today.
Understand what the next recharge will do
The advance is recovered with its service fee under the operator’s terms. Budget for that deduction when deciding how much to recharge. There is no need to make a separate payment to an unsolicited agent claiming to collect the advance.
The published page identifies BALANCE to 1080 for Out of Credit balance and eligibility information. That is separate from the normal cash-credit balance and from a data-pack allowance.

Zero Credit Call is a different product
du describes a separate low-balance calling prompt for one eligible local or international call, capped at three minutes. Its published price is AED 1.50 plus VAT, deducted from the next recharge; the page says no service charge is deducted if the other person does not answer.
Listen to the announcement before continuing. Holding the line after the prompt can accept the offered call, whereas hanging up avoids proceeding. Do not mistake this for free unlimited calling or another AED 5 advance.

Why a request may fail
| What to check | Useful next step |
|---|---|
| New line or insufficient qualifying usage | Ask whether the account meets the stated conditions |
| Wrong SIM selected | Repeat only from the intended du line |
| Outstanding advance or account restriction | Check the response and Out of Credit status |
| No clear confirmation | Check account credit before submitting again |
| Fee differs from an old screenshot | Use the present confirmation and ask support if unclear |
Notifications, borrowing and repayment are separate
The service page lists OPTOUT to 1080 for low-balance SMS notifications. That does not mean an existing advance or service fee is cancelled. Keep notification preferences separate from amounts already owed.
If you need a different amount, consider an authorised recharge or eligible airtime transfer rather than assuming this service offers a negotiable cash limit.
Practical questions
Is du Out of Credit free?
No. The operator publishes a service fee in addition to repayment of the advance.
Will I receive cash in a bank account?
No. This guide concerns mobile airtime credit.
Does *108# guarantee approval?
No. Read the eligibility and request response for your line.
Can I ignore repayment by opting out of SMS?
No. Opting out of notifications does not remove a completed advance or its fee.
