Abu Dhabi 102 Bus Route: MBZ City to Yas Island (2026)
The Abu Dhabi 102 bus route runs between MBZ City Bus Station and Yas Island / Hotel Plaza, via central Abu Dhabi. It serves the Mohammed Bin Zayed City medical and shopping corridor, Abu Dhabi Bus Station, Hamdan Street and Yas Island attractions. The older description ending at Khalifa Street is not the current full route.
The official route 102 PDF checked on 13 October 2026 includes weekday and weekend schedules in both directions. This is a long cross-city route: the full trip is not a 56-minute Mussafah shuttle. Use your boarding and alighting rows to estimate the part you actually need.

The currently downloaded tables give the following full-route departure windows on weekdays and weekends. Early short workings starting in the city can appear in the same table; they are not extra departures from Yas Island.

Frequency and journey duration
Many daytime departures are about ten minutes apart, but early-morning and late-night gaps are longer. For example, the first MBZ departures are 04:39, 05:14 and 05:25; the late MBZ sequence includes 23:01, 23:30, 00:00 and 00:30. A blanket every-ten-minutes promise would be misleading.
The first MBZ departure at 04:39 reaches Yas Hotel Plaza at 06:28, a scheduled 1 hour 49 minutes. The first full-route Yas departure at 05:34 reaches MBZ City at 07:23, also 1 hour 49 minutes. Which stop should you use?
For Yas Mall or Ferrari World, choose the named attraction stop rather than staying aboard to Hotel Plaza. For Yas Water World, check the Al Durar Street stop and the pedestrian route to the entrance. A bus stop beside an attraction does not include admission or an internal shuttle.
For Al Ain University on this route, the stop is the university’s MBZ City campus, not a journey to Al Ain city. Abu Dhabi Bus Station is an intermediate stop: a 102 departure from there has a different time from the MBZ terminal. Plan the precise building entrance for hospitals and workplaces rather than relying only on a district name.
102 fare and Hafilat card
Abu Dhabi Mobility’s standard-service tariff is AED 2 boarding plus 5 fils per kilometre, capped at AED 5 per standard journey. The actual deduction depends on the journey recorded by the card; this is not a universal AED 4 flat-fare route.
Use Hafilat and tap on boarding and alighting. Recharge before travelling using an official card channel or a sales machine. Dubai’s nol card is not the Hafilat product. Eligible concessions require the appropriate card or entitlement; they are not automatically granted because a passenger is a student or senior.
For repeat eligible city/suburban travel, the official Hafilat passes are AED 35 for seven days or AED 95 for thirty days from purchase, with intercity services excluded. Compare the pass with your actual travel pattern, not just one full-length 102 trip.
Transfers and travel planning
Eligible standard-service transfers can avoid another AED 2 boarding charge if you board the next bus within 60 minutes of the previous tap-out, do not reverse the journey direction and use no more than three buses across two transfers. This rule excludes intercity services and does not make every onward fare free.
