F17 Bus Timetable Dubai 2026: Current Times, Stops & Fare
F17 is the Metro feeder for Al Khail Gate from the station area now being renamed Garmin. Older route lists may call the rail interchange Al Safa, and older passenger information may use ONPASSIVE. Match the station location and bus stop in the planner before treating these as different routes.
Garmin, ONPASSIVE and Al Safa: the naming change
RTA announced Garmin naming rights on 7 September 2026 for the station previously known as ONPASSIVE. It said signage, digital systems, apps and onboard announcements would be updated from September to the end of November 2026. During that transition, older names can remain visible.
RTA’s published route list describes F17 as Al Safa Metro Station-Al Khail Gate. The important practical point is the Al Quoz/Al Khail Gate feeder connection, not assuming that every document has already adopted the latest station branding.
| Name you may see | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Garmin Metro / Garmin bus terminus | Current branding being introduced; inspect the boarding location |
| ONPASSIVE | Previous Metro station name; useful when older information has not updated |
| Al Safa Metro in the route list | Older route-list label for this station area |
| Al Khail Gate | Residential community; choose the exact gate/building destination |
F17 stops and the Al Khail Gate walk
The community route is compact, but Al Khail Gate’s entrance and numbered gate stops are not the same place. Search Al Khail Gate Entrance or Al Khail Gate 1, 2 or 3 with your building pinned, and use the live F17 stop map to confirm the stop call and remaining walk. RTA’s timetable lists the loop in this order: Garmin Bus Terminus 1, Al Khail Gate Entrance 1, Al Khail Gate 1, Al Khail Gate 2, Al Khail Gate 3, then back to Garmin Bus Terminus 1.
At the Metro end, a bus terminus may require a walk to the station entrance or lift. Check the pedestrian connection rather than following only the closest road on a map. For the return, select the station-bound journey and verify the destination display.
F17 timetable: peak-hour service times
RTA’s official F17 timetable, downloaded on 20 October 2026, shows a peak-hours service from Garmin Bus Terminus 1, Monday to Saturday: an early-morning period and an evening period.
| Day | Morning departures | Evening departures | Usual gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday-Wednesday | 04:18 to 10:30 | 16:00 to 23:47 | 10 min |
| Thursday | 04:18 to 10:30 | 16:00 to 23:47 | 10 min |
| Friday | 04:20 to 10:30 | 16:00 to 00:45 next day | 10 min |
| Saturday | 04:18 to 10:30 | 16:00 to 23:46 | 10-15 min |
| Sunday | No service listed | No service listed | – |
There are no departures between 10:30 and 16:00, and the timetable has no Sunday service. Within each period buses leave about every 10 minutes.
For a work shift, set the exact date and departure time in S’hail/RTA Journey Planner. Check the next actual F17 departure, and plan a different route for midday or Sunday trips, when F17 does not run.
- Search the Garmin/ONPASSIVE station area and your exact Al Khail Gate address.
- Select F17, then check the boarding stop and time.
- Plan the return independently and compare another route if no suitable F17 departure is shown.
For the full printed service-day table, enter F17 in “Download Timetables” on the RTA homepage. Read the origin row rather than the time the bus returns from its community circuit.
F17 fare and Metro transfer rules
F17 uses Dubai’s zone-based nol system. RTA’s Silver card fare bands are AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two adjacent zones and AED 7.50 across more than two zones. The deduction depends on your complete trip, so these are not three alternative flat prices for this route.
| Before boarding | What to do |
|---|---|
| Card balance | Keep at least AED 7.50 available to check in, as required by RTA |
| Validation | Tap the same nol card on boarding and leaving |
| Metro connection | Transfer within 30 minutes; eligible connected legs are priced as one journey |
| Cash | Not accepted on RTA buses |
An included Metro transfer still depends on the combined journey’s zones and transfer conditions. Check the balance before leaving home with our nol balance guide.
Alternatives when F17 does not suit your shift
RTA’s route list also identifies route 15 between Al Ghubaiba and Al Khail Gate and route 51 between Al Khail Gate and Business Bay Metro. Compare them using your building and the exact travel time; they use different central-Dubai connections and are not interchangeable simply because both serve Al Khail Gate.
A taxi can bridge a gap when the displayed bus options miss your shift, but compare the complete cost and station access before choosing it. Do not leave for a stop assuming an unverified Sunday closure or guaranteed midday departure.
Boarding and accessibility
Check that the reader confirms your nol tap, request the correct gate stop in advance and tap out on exit. If you need a ramp, wheelchair space or a step-free path to the Metro lift, verify both the vehicle and the stop/station connection with RTA. Similar station names alone do not establish an accessible boarding path.
