Dubai to Abu Dhabi Airport Bus Timings

Dubai to Abu Dhabi Airport Bus Timings & Fare Guide (2026)

The Airport Express connects Ibn Battuta Bus Station in Dubai directly with Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. The airport publishes departures on the hour, every hour, in both directions, with a scheduled journey of 90 minutes. This is the simplest bus connection when your destination is the airport rather than Abu Dhabi city.

Do not plan around the old RTA E102 airport service. RTA’s Wojhati planner has published a discontinuation notice from 29 June; an old downloadable E102 timetable is not evidence that the service is operating. Check the direct shuttle’s selected departure and ticket terms for your travel date.

Dubai to Abu Dhabi Airport bus timetable

The official airport timetable, checked on 14 October 2026, shows the same hourly pattern throughout the day and night in both directions.

DirectionPublished departuresScheduled journeyExample
Ibn Battuta Bus Station → Zayed AirportEvery hour on the hour, 00:00 through 23:0090 minutes05:00 departure → 06:30 arrival
Zayed Airport → Ibn Battuta Bus StationEvery hour on the hour, 00:00 through 23:0090 minutes22:00 departure → 23:30 arrival

A 23:00 departure has its scheduled 00:30 arrival on the following calendar day. The hourly published table is not a seat or punctuality guarantee. If the booking system offers different times for a selected service, confirm with the operator or counter before choosing which timetable to follow.

Where to board at Ibn Battuta

Travel to Ibn Battuta Bus Station, near Ibn Battuta Metro on Dubai’s Red Line. Follow the bus-station signs and ask for the direct Zayed Airport / Airport Express departure. Do not join an E101 queue merely because it also travels to Abu Dhabi: that service goes to the city bus station.

  1. Confirm that the destination on the ticket and bus is Zayed International Airport, not Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station.
  2. Check the date, departure time, operator and actual boarding bay.
  3. Leave time to buy or collect the ticket and have your luggage handled before departure.
  4. For a night journey, arrange your trip to Ibn Battuta separately; a 24-hour bus timetable does not mean the Metro runs all night.

Passengers arriving from Dubai International Airport need a separate journey to Ibn Battuta. This shuttle does not start at DXB and is not a direct transfer between the two airports.

Fare and tickets: confirm the payable amount

The airport’s current timetable page confirms the route, departures and airport-side ticket counter but does not display a current fare. Do not treat an old AED 35 quotation or an E102 AED 25 fare as a guaranteed current shuttle price. Check the selected ticket’s payable total or ask the departure counter before travelling.

At Zayed Airport, the official page directs passengers to the dedicated counter in the Arrivals Hall. For a Capital Express-booked departure, the operator’s booking platform supports selecting an origin, destination, travel date and passenger count. Confirm that the selected origin is Ibn Battuta and the destination is the airport, then read the final fare and terms before paying. Website availability does not establish availability on every departure.

A nol balance is not the same as a shuttle ticket or Hafilat card. Verify how your chosen departure accepts payment instead of assuming any UAE transport card works across all operators.

How early should you leave Dubai for a flight?

Start with the airline’s required airport-arrival time, then work backwards. Add the scheduled 90-minute shuttle journey, the trip to Ibn Battuta, ticketing and boarding time, and a margin for traffic or an unsuitable departure. A universal leave-Dubai-four-hours-before-flight rule can be too tight or unnecessarily early depending on your starting address and airline.

For example, if you choose the published 05:00 shuttle, its scheduled airport arrival is 06:30. Compare 06:30 with your airline’s check-in and bag-drop requirements, not simply with the aircraft’s departure time. Select an earlier bus if the margin is small, and keep a confirmed alternative for an important connection.

Luggage, accessibility and missed departures

The old allowance of two large bags plus 10 kg hand luggage is not supported by the current sources used for this guide. Capital Express’s published terms list a handbag up to 42 × 30 × 18 cm and 7 kg, plus luggage up to 80 × 50 × 30 cm and 20 kg. Apply those terms only to a ticket issued by that operator and confirm unusual items or extra bags before paying.

Ask the operator about the specific vehicle and boarding assistance if you need wheelchair access or are travelling with a mobility device. Do not infer suitability merely from a coach photograph. Save the ticket and essential travel documents offline rather than depending on onboard internet.

Check the cancellation, rescheduling and missed-bus conditions on your ticket. A ticket does not automatically guarantee boarding the next bus after a missed departure. The operator’s terms also distinguish scheduled travel from delays or changes beyond its control.

E100 or E101 plus a city-airport connection

E100 connects Al Ghubaiba with Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station; E101 connects Ibn Battuta with that city station. They can suit a trip that includes Abu Dhabi city, but neither should be presented as the direct airport shuttle. Search the full itinerary in RTA’s journey planner and check the current RTA timetable rather than reusing old first/last departure figures.

A2 serves Abu Dhabi Bus Station on Sultan Bin Zayed Street and continues to the airport. Its official stop-specific PDF has finite operating windows and uneven early/late gaps. A1 uses a different city corridor and should not be assumed to depart from the central bus station. Confirm the connection in Darbi and leave time to find the correct roadside stop.

The RTA intercity leg and Hafilat city-bus leg are different fare systems. The local boarding-fee transfer waiver does not make an intercity journey or its onward airport connection universally free.

Returning from Zayed Airport to Dubai

Use the Arrivals Hall counter and confirm the next direct Ibn Battuta departure. The airport publishes the same hourly, 90-minute pattern in this direction. After arriving in Dubai, check whether the Metro or your onward bus is still running; otherwise budget for another confirmed connection.

For travel onward into Abu Dhabi rather than Dubai, the city-bus network is a separate choice. For a journey to another emirate or a resort, plan that leg separately instead of assuming the airport shuttle includes it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a direct bus from Dubai to Abu Dhabi Airport?

Yes. The airport publishes the Ibn Battuta–Zayed Airport Express connection. Confirm your selected departure and ticket before travel.

Can I still use the old E102 timetable?

Do not rely on it. RTA’s planner has published a discontinuation notice; search a current complete journey instead.

Is the shuttle fare definitely AED 35?

The current airport timetable page does not state a fare. Confirm the current payable amount with the operator or counter rather than relying on an older quote.

Does the shuttle run overnight?

The airport’s published timetable has hourly departures across all 24 hours. Check the selected-date service and your separate transport to or from Ibn Battuta.

Is this a direct DXB-to-AUH bus?

No. The Dubai endpoint is Ibn Battuta Bus Station. You need another connection between DXB and Ibn Battuta.
