Abu Dhabi to Sharjah Bus 117: Fare & Schedule Checks (2026)
Route 117 is SRTA’s Abu Dhabi–Sharjah corridor, but its public Abu Dhabi Bus Station → Jubail Station enquiry currently returns only 00:45 and 01:30 departures at AED 30. That result is not sufficient to verify a complete daily timetable, so confirm the departure you need with SRTA or Abu Dhabi terminal staff before travelling. Do not rely on the old article’s conflicting 06:00, 06:30 or midnight service ranges.
The opposite enquiry, Jubail → Abu Dhabi, returns a fuller 117 G list from 03:45 to 23:30 at AED 33. The two directions need separate planning and have different fares.
What the official enquiries establish
| Selected journey | Line label | Fare shown | Scheduled duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi Bus Station → Jubail | 117 R | AED 30 | 2 hours 50 minutes for the two returned entries |
| Jubail → Abu Dhabi Bus Station | 117 G | AED 33 | 2 hours 40 minutes |
These are SRTA’s selected-stop results checked on 14 October 2026. The duration is calculated from the operator’s scheduled departure and arrival pairs. It does not guarantee an actual arrival time in traffic.
Abu Dhabi departures: confirmation needed
The public query returned the following entries:
| Depart Abu Dhabi | Scheduled arrival Jubail |
|---|---|
| 00:45 | 03:35 |
| 01:30 | 04:20 |
The absence of daytime rows does not prove that daytime buses have been withdrawn. It could reflect incomplete operator data, and we have no route-specific current announcement establishing a replacement daily schedule. Ask for your exact travel day and departure, including whether a just-after-midnight trip belongs to the date you intend.
For an appointment or airport connection, obtain confirmation before relying on this direction. A schedule copied from the reverse journey is not a safe substitute.

Confirm the stations and any intermediate boarding
In the SRTA enquiry, select Abu Dhabi Bus Station / Abu Dhabi and Jubail Station / Sharjah in your intended direction. Confirm the boarding bay and the destination on the bus at the terminal.
SRTA’s 6 September 2021 announcement identifies the 117 corridor. Its pandemic-era entry rules are historical and should not be reused as current requirements. For Shahama or another intermediate location, query and confirm that exact boarding point; a neighbourhood name is not proof that any roadside stop is served.
Fare and payment preparation
The selected endpoint enquiries show AED 30 from Abu Dhabi and AED 33 from Sharjah. Buying those two endpoint journeys would total AED 63 at the published fares, not AED 66. An intermediate journey or concession needs its own fare checked.
The timetable form does not list accepted cards for this route. SRTA’s Sayer guidance concerns Sharjah city travel, and departure from Abu Dhabi alone does not establish that Hafilat pays for an SRTA intercity service. Carry suitable cash and confirm the accepted ticket-payment method before boarding.
Plan onward transport and passenger needs
Allow time between the scheduled arrival and your next trip, particularly if you arrive after midnight. An Abu Dhabi Bus Station arrival is not an arrival at Zayed International Airport; plan any airport transfer separately. Likewise, Al Jubail may still be some distance from your final Sharjah address.
Ask the operator about luggage, wheelchair access or another specific requirement for the assigned bus. Do not rely on unverified Wi-Fi, reclining seats or fixed luggage promises. For a different corridor, see the Abu Dhabi–Ras Al Khaimah guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the first or last daytime bus from Abu Dhabi?
The reviewed enquiry does not provide enough information to confirm that. Ask SRTA or terminal staff for your intended departure.
Does the incomplete table mean only two buses operate?
No. It establishes what the query returned, not the reason daytime entries are missing.
Where can I resolve the timetable gap?
SRTA publishes 600 525252 for enquiries. Give the exact direction, travel date and selected stations.
Can I use the same timetable for both ways?
No. The operator publishes separate directional results, fares and scheduled durations.
