Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah Bus Timings, Price & Route (2026)
The direct Abu Dhabi-to-Ras Al Khaimah bus is listed daily by RAKTA, with departures at 13:30, 17:30 and 21:30 and a published one-way fare of AED 35. It is not currently a weekend-only service. The reverse direction has a separate timetable and higher published fare.
Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah: official timetable
These are the terminal departures shown on the RAKTA public transport page, checked on 13 October 2026. Times use the 24-hour clock.
| Direction | Service days | Departures | Published one-way fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi → RAK | All days | 13:30, 17:30, 21:30 | AED 35 |
| RAK → Abu Dhabi | All days | 09:00, 13:00, 17:00 | AED 50 |
Do not use the reverse-direction times for a bus leaving Abu Dhabi. Confirm the selected trip in Sayr before travelling, especially on public holidays or when you need the final departure. The official page does not publish arrival times, so a fixed 3.5-hour promise is not justified.
Boarding in Abu Dhabi and arriving in RAK
Search Abu Dhabi Bus Station as your origin and the RAK main bus station as the destination in Sayr. Confirm the precise boarding bay and terminal label on your booking or with the station staff. In Ras Al Khaimah, RAKTA identifies its main bus station in South Al Dhait; do not confuse that terminal with Al Hamra Mall or an Al Marjan Island resort.
The intercity bus is useful for reaching the RAK transport hub, but the last part of a beach-resort journey may require a separate city bus or taxi. Ask your hotel which entrance or pickup point to use and check the connection before choosing the 21:30 Abu Dhabi departure.
Tickets, payment and booking
RAKTA’s Sayr platform supports intercity trip planning, advance booking, schedule information and electronic payments. Select the travel date, direction and trip; confirm the displayed fare and any booking conditions before payment. Save the ticket or confirmation where it can be opened at boarding.
RAKTA has expanded Saqr card use to intercity services. Ask the station which payment method applies to the selected departure. A Dubai nol card is not a universal UAE bus ticket, and this guide does not claim nol acceptance on the RAKTA leg.
If the direct departure does not suit you
A connection via Dubai is an alternative, not a weekday necessity. RTA’s E100 arrives at Al Ghubaiba and E101 at Ibn Battuta; neither is a direct Abu Dhabi-to-Union bus. You must then travel within Dubai to Union before boarding the RAKTA service.
| Leg | Connection to plan |
|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi → Dubai | E100 to Al Ghubaiba or E101 to Ibn Battuta |
| Across Dubai | Metro/local travel from the arrival station to Union |
| Union → RAK | Separately booked RAKTA departure; check the last trip |
Choose the combination using your actual date and allow for the station-to-Metro walk, rail changes and boarding time at Union. Separate operators and tickets mean a delayed first bus does not guarantee the later connection. See the Dubai-to-RAK timetable guide for the Union leg.
Return planning and accessibility
For a same-day visit, the listed final RAK-to-Abu Dhabi departure is 17:00, much earlier than the final bus in the other direction. Plan the return before leaving Abu Dhabi. For wheelchair access, luggage or assistance, contact RAKTA on 800 1700 and ask about the vehicle and station access on your selected trip.
RAKTA’s Orange city route connects the South Al Dhait bus station with the Al Nakheel area, but check its own timetable and walking route. A long-distance ticket does not include every onward city trip.
