DubaiRead publishes bus timetables, fares, toll and parking rules, and mobile codes and plans for the UAE. These details change often, and a wrong departure time or an old USSD code costs readers real time and money. This page explains how we check facts before a guide goes live, how we keep guides current, and what we do when we get something wrong.
What we check
Every guide is checked for the facts a reader will act on:
- Bus routes: route numbers, stops, first and last departures, frequencies and journey times.
- Fares and payment: ticket prices, which card or method a route accepts (nol, Hafilat or cash) and any fare zones.
- Tolls and parking: Salik and Darb charges and hours, parking zones, paid hours and SMS formats.
- Mobile services: du, e& and FIVE balance codes, data and call packages, prices, validity and who can use them.
- Official channels: helpline numbers, apps, websites and service centres.
Where our facts come from
We use the organisation that runs the service as the primary source. That means published timetables and journey planners from RTA, Sharjah RTA, Abu Dhabi Mobility and RAKTA; the official Salik and Darb information; and the published plans and help pages of du, e& and FIVE. Where a regulator or police authority sets a rule, such as black points or traffic fines, we use that authority’s own pages.
Forums, social media posts and other websites can point us to a change, but they are never the only source for a time, fare, code or price that we publish.
How a guide is checked before it is published
- Each figure in the draft is traced back to its official source.
- Timetables are cross-checked between two operator sources where both exist, for example a timetable PDF and the journey planner.
- Codes, prices and package details are compared with the operator’s current page on the day of checking.
- Links to official pages are opened and tested.
- Anything we could not confirm is either removed or clearly marked so you know to check it with the operator.
Keeping guides current
Guides are reviewed again when an operator announces a change, such as a new fare, a route change, a VAT change or a new package, and during seasonal changes such as Ramadan timetables. When a guide is updated, its updated date changes so you can see how recent the information is.
How we correct mistakes
When we find an error, or a reader reports one, we:
- Check the report against the official source.
- Fix the guide as soon as the correct information is confirmed.
- Add a short correction note at the end of the guide when the fix changes what a reader should do, such as a fare, a departure time, a code or a step.
- Update any other guides on DubaiRead that repeat the same fact.
Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
What counts as a correction
- A wrong or outdated departure time, frequency or stop.
- A fare, toll, parking charge or package price that has changed.
- A USSD code, SMS format or helpline number that no longer works.
- A missing or wrong step in a process.
- A misreading of an operator’s or authority’s published rules.
Report an error
If you spot something wrong or out of date, email dubairead.com@gmail.com or use our contact form. Please include:
- The link to the guide.
- What is wrong and what you believe is correct.
- Where you saw the correct information, for example the operator’s page, app or a photo of a timetable at the stop.
We aim to review every report within a few working days. Reports from readers who use the service every day are one of the best ways we have of catching changes early.
Our limits
DubaiRead is an independent publisher. We are not part of RTA, Sharjah RTA, Abu Dhabi Mobility, RAKTA, Salik, Darb, du, e& or FIVE, and nothing on this site is an official notice. Operators can change timetables, fares and plans without warning, and services can be disrupted by roadworks, events, holidays or weather. Please confirm with the operator’s own app or website before you travel or pay. Read more in our Editorial Policy and Disclaimer.
