Salik Balance Check guide featuring a smartphone with a neutral wallet and toll-tag symbol

Salik Balance Check: Official Website, App & Phone Guide

Quick answer: The easiest Salik balance check is the Salik app: sign in and the balance appears on the home screen. You can also check on salik.ae with your account or plate details, or call 800 SALIK (800 72545) and follow the automated prompts. Keep enough credit: since 1 June 2026 each toll costs AED 6.30 at peak times and AED 4.20 off-peak, including 5% VAT, and a low balance turns into a AED 50 fine if you do not top up within 5 working days.

Use only Salik’s official app, website and number. Old guides mention SMS keywords to short codes for balance checks; these are not part of Salik’s current published channels, so do not rely on them.

Check Salik balance in the app

  1. Download the Salik app (Smart Salik) from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Sign in with the mobile number registered on your account and the one-time code sent to it.
  3. Your balance is shown on the home screen.
  4. Open Trips or Statements to see each toll and deduction; open Vehicles to check which cars are linked.
  5. Check for pending violations against your plate in the same app.

One Salik account can have several vehicles, and they all draw on the same balance. If the balance drops faster than you expect, check the trips list for another car on the account.

Check on the Salik website

  1. Open salik.ae directly in your browser.
  2. Choose the balance or account service.
  3. Enter the details requested: your account number or the vehicle plate with its emirate, source and code, plus the registered mobile number.
  4. Read the balance shown, or sign in for full account details.

If your registered mobile number has changed, update it through Salik’s official process before you need the account. Never share a one-time code with anyone offering to check your balance for you.

Check by phone: 800 SALIK (800 72545)

Call 800 72545 from any phone and follow the automated menu to hear your balance. The same number lets you recharge with a recharge card or e-voucher and speak to customer service about missing top-ups, sold vehicles or disputed trips. Keep your account number, plate details and payment reference ready.

Salik toll rates in 2026 (with VAT)

Salik tag basics

  • A Salik tag kit costs AED 100 at ENOC, EPPCO, Emarat and ADNOC stations: AED 50 for the tag and AED 50 of starting balance. It can also be ordered online for delivery.
  • Since June 2026, VAT also applies to Salik tag activation fees.
  • Tags are not transferable between cars. When you sell a vehicle, delete it from your account and remove the tag.
  • Rental car crossings are billed to the rental company, which passes them on to you, often with an admin fee.
  • Some vehicles qualify for exemption, for example vehicles of people of determination. See the Salik exemption guide.

Driving to Abu Dhabi? Abu Dhabi uses a separate toll system; see our Darb timings guide.
